Rice of Venus
The Venus variety is aromatic, with an intense black color that got its name from the ancient goddess of love, Aphrodite. It was known as the "forbidden rice" because in the past it was grown exclusively for the Chinese emperor. Venus rice is of Italian origin, and the unique aroma is reminiscent of freshly cut bread. It retains all its nutrients thanks to minimal processing. It is very rich in fiber and trace elements such as: iron, zinc, calcium, selenium and manganese, as well as B vitamins. Its color comes from the presence of anthocyanins, substances that have a strong antioxidant effect. Venus rice originated from a common cross between an Asian and Italian variety.
